Ken Turner - Psychologist
Commencing 29 June 2026 with Immediate Availability
Hi, I’m Ken.
I’m a psychologist who works in a grounded, relational, and reflective way. I’m particularly interested in helping people move beyond just managing symptoms, and instead develop a clearer understanding of themselves, their patterns, and what’s keeping them stuck.
In therapy, I tend to focus on slowing things down and creating space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface. I aim to bring a steady and genuine presence to sessions, helping clients feel comfortable enough to engage with difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.
My background includes working in both custodial and community mental health settings, supporting people experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. These experiences have shaped a flexible and grounded approach that adapts to each individual, while still maintaining a clear direction in therapy.
I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), integrating these in a way that suits each person rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.
Outside of my clinical work, I’ve spent many years undertaking multi-day hikes and extended time in nature. This has shaped my interest in how outdoor and experiential environments can support reflection, resilience, and personal growth. Where it feels appropriate, I enjoy incorporating walk-and-talk sessions or nature-based elements into therapy.
I work with adults across a range of concerns and am particularly interested in emotional regulation, identity, life transitions, and relational patterns.
I look forward to meeting you.
